The Suffolk County Landbank
Corporation invites responses from qualified Title Examination/ Insurance
Companies to provide services, including examining and insuring title for
vacant residential and/or commercial properties within Suffolk County.
The Suffolk County Landbank Corporation (SCLBC) is currently
in the process of facilitating the return of vacant, abandoned, underutilized,
environmentally-challenged and/or tax-delinquent residential or commercial
properties to productive, tax-paying uses.
It is anticipated that the redevelopment of these properties will result
in an increase to the property values of surrounding parcels, stabilize the tax
base, and improve quality of life for neighborhood residents. Additionally, the
SCLBC works to acquire, rehabilitate, and sell bank or tax foreclosed and vacant
single-family homes in the Towns of Babylon, Brookhaven, and Islip, which were
heavily impacted by the residential foreclosure crisis.
The SCLBC is seeking Title Insurance/Examination Companies
to provide title examination and insurance policies on properties that the
SCLBC intends to acquire including properties acquired through tax foreclosure.
Please prepare and submit a statement of your organization’s qualifications in accordance with the procedure and schedule in the RFQ, which can be found by clicking here.
